For newer players or just those who need a refresher, this is the plot of Legend of the Beasts.
Many years ago, a massive english ship crashed on an unknown island. The ship had two types of animals aboard it: The Jackals and Cats. After the crash, the Cats and Jackals began to mingle with the native Coyotes and Wolves. As the Cat and Jackal communities began growing, a series of bloody battles were fought between the four sides. This ended when four brave animals convinced everyone to stop the wars, and declared themselves the rulers of their respective kingdoms.
Peace has reigned this way for ten years.
But no one lives forever.
After the death of each leader, a transition of power took place in every kingdom. It looked like peace would reign once more, but that was not so. A dark presence was felt, and many animals began going insane, and others are falling into a sickness that rots their body away before they die.
Rumors have been flying that Lightwoodly powers were blessed to the brave to help fight the darkness, but those are just stories.

Either way, only the strongest, bravest, and cleverest of animals can defeat the demonic forces at play.
